23 Days Until SPRING!

crocuses in snow

The weather has not been a joy around here.  It’s been cold and snowy, with no way to get out and walk, which is my preferred way of exercising.  I push myself to go to the gym, but I haven’t gone every day like I’d like to.  So I was SO EXCITED to see a Facebook Memory post I had made that said that it’s only 23 days until Spring!  Granted, a certain date won’t mean that we won’t have any more snow, but we will see signs of Spring, such as these beautiful crocuses, trees budding, and warmer days.  And I will be able to get out more and walk.  The days will get longer, the clocks will spring forward, and my mood will slowly rise.  I will wake up to birdsong in the morning.  These are simple joys that I truly miss in the Winter.

For this Bipolar gal, my optimal seasons are Spring and Summer, so I am looking forward to days where everything isn’t such a damn struggle, where I spring out of bed, where I can go outside on my porch in my pj’s with my coffee and experience the morning in all its glory.  I can’t wait!

  1. I’ll be so glad to see spring and warmer temps. The real heat of summer in Kansas is hard to deal with. I’ve been down for three weeks with an upper respiratory thing that turned into bronchitis and then pneumonia. Stayed pretty positive, though, and able to continue my normal meds. 4 more days of prednisone and the tension will wear off. Needed it to clear my lungs. Be well, good to hear from you!

  2. It’s quite amazing how far the seasons can affect our mentality, and I too am looking forward to spring! I’m sorry to hear you’ve been cooped up inside because of the weather – I live in the Peak District, UK, and have barely managed to get my car out the drive for the past few months – had some sunshine today but apparently it’s going to be snowing all of next week…

Best wishes and enjoy the coffee!

  3. We’ve had a pretty mild winter here in Kokomo, IN, USA. A few days way below 0 degrees F, but not much precipitation, and a lot of warmer than normal temperatures, a lot more than the really cold days. Still, I can’t wait for spring!

  4. Such a gorgeous picture! So glad your happy time is on its way! Ironically, I always start getting depressed as the days get longer and hyper in the fall. Ah the life of us, people with bipolar! Hugs for you. 🤗🤗🤗🌷🌷🌷
